Samad is a young, driven individual with a long list of accomplishments and extracurriculars that substantiate his knowledge socially, academically, athletically and in various fields of STEM. He is pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Columbia University, with a plan to minor in a fine art. He has taken 12 AP classes, 6 Dual Credit, and has scored 4s and 5s on all AP exams he tested in. Throughout high school, he was involved in dozens of extracurriculars, and was the recipient of several academic and athletic awards. Samad was the President of Science Olympiad, Vice President of Muslim Student Association, Senior Class Vice President, Technology Student Association’s Parliamentarian, and a NASA High School Aerospace Scholar. His hard work advanced him to state for each of the aforementioned organizations, and more recently in July, he attended Technology Student Association’s national conference. He is the recipient of dozens of medals for Science Olympiad and TSA, the INKAS Rising Star Scholarship, an AP Scholar with Distinction, and on Texas High School Coaches Association’s Academic 1st Team for his success in varsity football and academically. He has also completed dozens of engineering projects, and is currently working towards completing another. His diverse interests in all fields of STEM motivated his venture into several disciplines, awarding him comprehensive knowledge in the fields of medicine, engineering, and computer science.
